McCandless is a North Hills township of about 29,700 residents, often called the Town of McCandless. About 1,600 acres of North Park lie inside it, along with the Latodami Nature Center and the Pine Creek valley. McKnight Road has been the main route into the north suburbs since the 1950s, and McCandless Crossing, finished in 2016, added a new town center.
McCandless grew first around the old Harmony Line trolley stops at Highland and Ingomar in the early 1900s, then spread into dozens of planned neighborhoods like Meadow Oaks, Guyton Farms, Greybrooke, Bennington Woods, Pinnacle Pointe and Longvue Acres. That means older homes near Ingomar alongside newer houses with open kitchens and finished basements. We bring the right plan for a 1920s Ingomar house or a newer Guyton Farms home.
